Hey everyone, I know it’s been awhile since I’ve blogged (about 1.5 weeks to be exact) and I’m so sorry for the silence. I was going through a personal issue that basically put my life on pause, work and all.
But now I’m back! And life doesn’t stop, even when there are hiccups, so summer in the Midwest is moving full steam ahead. And that especially means this blog. So let’s put the book video/book club thing on hold till the end of June. I’m sure basically no one else is reading that book but me, but if you are, you now have a whole other month to complete it! So now you will hear my thoughts about that (and the several other books I’ve read the past month) at the end of June (personal issues permitting, haha just kidding).
In other news, Ryan and I had a much-needed relaxing and inspiring weekend. On Saturday, we started by visiting The Art Institute of Chicago (one of my favorite places in the world that I’m lucky enough to be a member at), then stumbled upon an art fair in the city. Had a delicious lunch at Howells & Hood, went shopping at Zara (got this dress for …one of my wedding prep events) and then dinner at The Capital Grille (Ryan and my first date was at the Milwaukee location) and drinks out with friends at Fairways later that night. Overall, busy and best Saturday I’ve had in awhile. Then Sunday we went to my parents house to return my mom’s car, hang out and have dinner, get completely stormed on and go see A Million Ways to Die in the West (personally, not my favorite and did not end up getting highly reviewed).
Between the weekend and the summertime weather, I’m feeling a renewed sense of inspiration and energy this week. Hopefully this feeling carries on for the next few months!
In the meantime, enjoy these beautiful links:
+Started my Monday morning off by listening to this beautiful blogger get interviewed on the lively show
+Everything about this image makes me happy & is what I want my future appointment to be
+This pinterest board is going to be a life-saver these coming 3 months, as I inch closer to my wedding…and consistently forget all the things that need to be done
+Loving this outfit grid/vibe of these photos. Makes me want to triple my summer yoga time.
+Can’t wait to have a floral crown for my wedding reception. But, in the meantime, I would happily settle for this DIY version.
+Maybe it’s just my sweet tooth (or the summer sun has me craving ice cream for dinner), but these vegan no-bake brownies look delish AND they won’t back-track any gym time.
On another, somewhat less-inspiring note (but very-much blog and internet-related), this video on Net Neutrality by John Oliver is genius. Also scary, and important everyone knows about this (if you want to submit your displeasure, visit the FCC’s website to voice your concern).
